The Cleanliness of the hotel was excellent.Couldn't fault this area at all!And extra towels were provided if needed.Did receive a booklet & a voucher for information on events happening in Blackpool. The lady of the hotel did guide us through everything we needed to know about our room/stay & how to work things, for example:Shower,tv,etc. And use of keys.Hot water was available throughout the day.
Did not receive no greeting/welcome like one should receive upon arrival.Even though there were sufficient heating gadgets/appliances within the hotel/rooms for some unknown reason these were not switched on or seemed to be allowed on.Our room & the dining room were cold.Which has left my partner poorly. He's got cold in his body from staying at the Alexandra. And has been sick a few times. This holiday has left a bad experience for us all for very different reasons. But my partner in particular. The hotel has damp issues.Even the lady of the hotel admitted to this & her own room being cold. This hotel is in need of some draught proofing/warmth.

Cheap and cheerful hotel helpful owners Nice breakfast close to pleasure beach.
family room a bit small. TV in room not working due to old digibox setup. No WiFi outside of bar/lounge. Tea/coffe in room not replenished after first night.

I have just read the reviews to this hotel and would like to say that they are completely wrong. They are talking about another hotel in Blackpool with the same name. The hotel we stayed at had no lift or night porter was family run and extremly friendly. The hotel rooms were spacious and the ensuite facilities were extremly clean and good. There was hot running water throughout our stay. The breakfast was delivered to our table and was a fabulous Full English. There was also cereal, juice, tea, coffee and toast a plentyful. The bar was open untill late for a nightcap before bed. There was ironing facilities loaned to us when requested. Whilst at the hotel there was a family with young children who the owners went out of there way to accomodate. Heating bottles, warming baby food, nothing seemed too much trouble. After reading this slanderous blogs I felt compelled to write in and feel that the reviews that are clearly not linked to the Alexandra Hotel, 1 Alexandra Road, Southshore, Blackpool but to the other hotel Alexandra Hotel, Albert Road Blackpool, should be taken off. This is clearly slanderous and could ruin a genuine family business that is fabulous. Its not five star but its comforable, friendly and above all its a warm environment to stay in for all AGES YOUNG and OLD.
